Found a metal bow- Need help!

My brother found this while metal detecting on a farm in western PA, near an area that had a cabin that George Washington once owend, It is not silver (he checked) but not sure what metal it is. It does not hold a magnet. Iis extremely heavy. On the back picture, you can tell that something was once attached to the knot portion, maybe a buckle or latch, etc.?

Any idea what the metal could be or how old it could possibly be?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Neat little find, may be pewter, I probably would not handle it too much older pewter had lead.

Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85

That shows both sides, You can see the "bow" over top the tail ends in one pic and underneith in the other pic.
