Found a little time....

Weather still really bad over here, wind and rain, miserable summer. Very few people on the beaches. Took a chance on a very small neap tide yesterday, in the hope that the sand that has been brought in brought a few goodies with it.

No gold or silver, but did have a fully working watch, so not all bad I suppose.

Good find for a miserable day:thumbup:

That's a great looking watch. Nice Find!!

One question though, what's a "Neap Tide"? I'd never heard of that phrase before.

neap tides are the smallest tides, only around 1-3 metres difference between high and low water.
Spring tides are the opposite, around 6 or 7 metres difference.

Hope that helps

Yep I think I'm quite lucky to have pulled out the watch, all works, and will look good in the finds display.

Take a little look at this webcam, you will also see how LONG the neap tide is, by that I mean due to the strong onshore winds, the water is running up the beach a hell of a long way, making it difficult to get to he sand under the previous days' low neap swimming area.

Today is worse than ever, winds are getting up to around 40 mph with 50-60 mph forcast for later in the week.

Summer holidays......Mmmmmmmm, I think summer has gone on holiday this year.
