I put the small coil on the ctx and pulled an 1840 large cent. She isn't pretty but its my oldest coin to date.

Congratulations........ do you think the stock coil would have found it or do you think the 6" coil was the answer?

I'm sure she's a lot prettier than you give her credit. Congratulations on your oldest coin. What a great find! HH, Nancy

SWEET!!! Congrats on your large cent and your oldest coin.

Congrats on your large cent. I've watched people pull them out of the ground, one was even with my own detector, but I am still looking for my first.

It wasnt masked but it was right up against some corn stalks that were piled. There is a lot of iron in that area.

Awesome find buddy!! Hope all is well. Have a great week!

Neil

Here are the pictures. The fertilizers did a number on her. Still waiting for the beans to come down but so far the corn field isn't a total bust. Found a flat button with 2 stags and a doe on it last time I stopped by there.

Love them firsts, now for seconds...

large cent pennies are especially fun to find .Was it very deep?
