I flicked off the green corrosion with my fingernail, and I am soaking it in olive oil.It is a Matron large head cent, or the one minted after that.I'm shy about trying to relieve the corrsion around the date.
The digital reading on the minelab explorer 2 was 30 on coductivity, and 0 on ferrous.
I'm new at this, but really enjoying it.
I now have saved enough clad coins to buy Calamine lotion. (Actually a note here-aloe vera works great for the poison ivy itching )

Great find and hope you increase your finds with silver next time.

EEkk gadds man! I am a non fan of poison ivy, oak and summac! It finds me any where and every where. If you can find a soap called Technu get it and use it right after contact with the ivy or every time you walk through it. After you have the rash and as long as it is not broke open look for a clear gel called Rhuli or Ivy itch. Jwax had it and sold it to another manufacturer. Carry an extra set of clothes so you can crawl out of the infected clothes. The oil will get through the clothes on the ride home and then get on your skin. A delayed effect. Some times I did not break out until 3 days later. And last I also read article from a guy in CO that would spray his legs down with right gaurd under arm spray. And then he would also spray his clothes( pants legs) with right gaurd. This blocks the oil from getting to your skin pores and will allow it to be washed off before your infected. And if you do react to the ivy never be around someone burning it. Their is a chance you will breath in the Acid(oil) vapors and it will get into your lungs. No need to bring the detector where you will be going do to all the roads in heaven are gold..
A upside to it is 15 percent of the population is immune to ivy. I guess they can roll around in it and dont have to worry.. Besides that is was a 1.50 clad Sunday morning and some melted aluminum slugs,, yee haw!!

God I hate poison Ivy, summac, oak. I would spray it all if I could!!!
