I had hunted the G2 for a few weeks but had not yet emptied my pouch until last night when I decided to empty it for this morning's hunt. I got the trash all picked out of the goodies and put the cash ($9.40) away and then started looking through the rest of the finds. One of the possible goodies was a ring with a red stone that at the time I recovered it last week I just glanced at it and dropped it in the pouch. It had a split band with one side inside the other just like bubble gum machine rings which is what I thought it was. Last night I picked it up to toss it in with the rest of the trash but gave it one last look and I couldn't help but think that the stone was too good for a junk ring. So I brought it inside to a brighter light and gave it a more thorough look. Turns out to be a silver ring with a very nice ruby stone, but it had broke at the solder joint and curled up, mimicing those bubble gum machine rings. It is nice enough to have fixed. Glad I didn't toss it.
The high frequency of the G2 didn't have any problem hitting it and giving a good audio even though the band was split. I air tested it again tonight and with the open split I got a good solit 68. Band held together gives a solid 71.
It was a good find and reminds me of why I wanted the G2 in the first place.
Sorry for the poor photos.
