I went out with a friend of mine detecting today, and found an area where there was coins everywhere. I found $6.75 in the beginning of our hunt, and then it was like I was hunting over an electric transformer. My machine was going bonkers, popping and beeping every swing. I left my other coil at home, so I had to quit. When I got home I switched coils and she works great. I am going to go back to that site with my friend and we will start where we left off. Not really sure why there was so many coins in that area. I sure will miss that 5x8 coil this week.

Oh man...that really sucks! happened to me before too. Coil craps out. On the plus side, you have a spare and Garrett should replace the other one. And, perhaps, the old one will work again. Who knows

Always bring a spare coil and batteries on a hunt. Now where have I heard that before?:poke:

After the physical Therapist told me No more metal detecting I was Sure was happy with that Minelab Pro-swing 45 when I had to put the bigger coil on my machine. I went back to that hot spot with my friend and found another $17.35, a silver ring and a No cash value token

I have a 5x8 coil and coil cover on order, along with a Garrett MS-3 Z-Lynk Wireless Package. My headphone wire keeps getting tangled with the cord from the harness.
