Found a Coin or token we can’t identify! Help!

We were out yesterday and my husband found a coin or token in a farm field. We’re in Canada....it is pretty worn down. It’s about the size of a large penny but seems thin. It says GREAT BRITAIN on one side and you can maybe make out a head. On the other side, I think I see a standing person, facing left. I think I can read the letters that spell COMMERCE but it’s pretty sketchy. Can’t see much in pictures, it wasnt until I put some olive oil and water on it and look at it in natural light that I started to make it out on the back side. My picture size is too big to load on here right now.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Wow John, you nailed it! Thank you so much! That’s exactly how I pictured it! Do you have a pic of the other side? Did you find this yourself? Super exciting! I didn’t find anyth8ng online!
