Found a cheap alternative for screen protection

Howdy all! Have been off for eight weeks recovering from my hip replacement, my surgeon released me to work so....no new hunts last week. Forgive me if this has been suggested before on this forum, but I found a cheap alternative to the costly screen protectors for the E-Trac, and thought I would pass it along. I was in our local office supply and talking to one of the clerks, I asked about screen protectors and she had them for I Phones, and the larger ones that would fit the face of the E-Trac. $15.00 for three. When I commented on the cost, she suggested a much cheaper alternative, sticky backed lamination sheets for documents. They are 8 1/2" x 11" sheets and cost .75 cents each. The glue on them isn't permanent, and can be removed without damage. I think you could get at least 6 screen protectors from each sheet. I saved the original plastic protector that was shipped on the screen of the E-Trac, and used it for a pattern. It works great and at less than .15 cents a piece, you can change them often. BSC

Thanks for the info BSC. Did they wrinkle or bubble up when applied?

I worked the new protector from the top down, sealing it with my thumb as I went. Very good visibility with very few bubbles. The nice thing about them is if f you were to get some bubbles behind it, you can always peel it back and try again. They are about the same mil thickness as the original protector so no problems with wrinkles. They do have some bubbling effects but, it helps greatly with sun glare. I also paid $15.00 for them at staples to find an off brand later on at walmart for $7.99. Just a little roll back to pass on. lol :lmfao:

Good post thanks for the information....
