I was detecting the tree line in a small park where I found some American silver and wheat cents a few weeks ago and got a strange signal. Almost did not dig it. Down about 6

Even if its not much worth it is a very good find.

You never know when its going to be a cache of great value, but you know for sure it is out there.

That's pretty cool, Mike. You just never know what's going to come out of the ground at times like that. BTW, the pics are very good. Ron

Great find, and very interesting, even tho you think it may be a time capsule, buried by possible young children(girls) still it a very interesting.
i made a find a few days ago of coins. all in one hole(4 wide by 7"+ deep): "12 pennies(1970's, of the ones that i could read), one kennedy 1/2 dollar, one eisenhower dollar, and two british pennies, dated 1920, and 1907". the only british pennies that i can think of were the "farthings". i will have to do some research on them and see what else i can discover about them.
"good hunting" *Patricks*

Hi,
fabulous find - but I find it hard to believe that some girlies would actually go to the trouble to bury a time capsule. Girlies would want to hang on to this sort of stuff I believe. I reckon its more likely the result of some crime perhaps - theft, murder etc. or a practical joke (brother steals items from annoying sister...) sort of thing.

Might be worth checking with local law enforcement to see if there are any unsolved crimes from around the time you say the cache was buried. You might have found valuable clues. just a thought...
