yesterday morning i was looking at metal detectors on cl. found a whites 5900 that an older gentleman had. He said it was too heavy and he did not know how to use it. He didnt realize you had to keep machine in motion in geb disc. Anyway i bought it

Cool . Those were top of the line for the time . I think the spectrum came out not too long afterwards . I had the Xlt in the mid 90's . I loved the machine bought it brand new it was 700 and something bucks . I sold it to my brother for a hundred bucks with some extras , it was a nicely balanced machine. My brother and I go out detecting together still. I am using minelab now as well as Garrett . Have fun with the 5900 as long as it still works you should be able to find some good stuff. Hopefully it is as comfortable as the XLT . HH
