Fors Relic Hunt - 7-3-16

Hi All,

A friend moved in to a house in Prescott, Az built in 1920 and gave me permission to hunt it. Started with the small coil as it has been glued to my Relic then moved to the larger stock coil. Hunted in DI2, Sens 50,
ID Mask 3, Iron Volume 3, Tone Break 50...

Couple of watch winders, a weird- light? model A maybe, harmonica reeds, and my first Arizona tax token and some play money 10 cents from 1954. Great hunt. The Relic just bangs them out! HH.

and getting out more than I have lately. Between very hot weather and an abundance of home and landscaping projects, plus a week of tending a lazy teenager, I've been about worn out. By next weekend I do hope to be escaping to a few hunt sites and I know my Relic is easily up to the task of finding stuff.

It seems like Prescott ought to have been hotter than here where I am in Vale, Oregon, but today you hit 90° and we pushed 97°, and yesterday, the 2nd, you hit 84° to my 97°, which was a cool-down from the 101°, 103°, 102° and 101° on Monday thru Thursday, but this coming week we should see cooler weather in the 80's like you're enjoying and that means time to get a detecting workout.. Most likely will visit a gold mining townsite that, like two others nearby, is structure-less, and that's the way I like to find ghost towns.

I won't be dealing with pull tabs or pry tabs like in your photo, and should I happen to luck onto any coinage (it's been very sparse) it will likely be from the Barber or Seated Liberty era.

I wish you the best of success on your next jaunt afield

Thank you, Monte.
We had quite a bit of rain this last week that cooled us off nicely. Gonna be hot this next week, though.
Good luck this next week...nail a seated! Have a great 4th.

Some nice finds.

I like my Nokta relic,,,especially the smaller coil installed.
I enjoy my Racer 2 as well as my CoRe, and for specialty work the Gold + and Gold Racer, but my primary-use unit is my Relic, and the most grabbed unit is the one with the 5½" round DD coil affixed to it. Dense trash and heavy brush or building rubble call for smaller coils, and the Relic provides exceptional performance and impressive depth of detection with that coil.
