The Fors Core audio is its greatest strength. You can get a lot of information just from the sound it makes, once you understand what it is saying. To that end, I keep the mask setting somewhere between 0 and 5. The more masking, the more the audio is clipped, in my experience. I prefer three tones but many want the extra depth that you get with two tones. Sensitivity defaults to 50 and I find that to be just fine in my mild soil. Be aware that the higher the sensitivity, the smaller the objects you will detect. The Fors will pick up some tiny stuff! Spend some time scanning known targets and the sound they make and the TIDs they give. Shape and size affects the sound. Believe your ears more than you believe the TID. Dig everything for a while until you get the hang of the data the detector is giving you and what it means. Hope this is helpful- happy hunting!

Great advice!
