Fors CoRe gets religious

Religious pendants are not a rare find for me. I usually find 3-4 in the course of a hunting season but finding 6 in the same outing in about 2 hours is surprising to say the least. Two of them have french inscriptions and one of them is in spanish. The large cross is a beauty. I initially thought it was all bronze but there is a wooden cross encased in the bigger bronze cross. By the looks of the weathered cracked wood, I gather it has been in the ground for some time. I have personally never seen a 2 piece design like that before. I also found a heavy flower design brass button and a broach that seems to be made out of brass/bronze as well. The pin is intact in the back. No silver or copper coins this time. Always at my "hunted out" place where good things seem to suddenly appear since I've had my CoRe.

DI3, gain at 90, ID masking at 39 and all found with the small 5 inch "out of round coil".

I have had a few times, over five decades of hunting, when I might get 5 to 8 religious pendants or rings, etc., on an outing, but most often that happened back before the mid-'90s. A lot depended upon the particular location or area I was searching and they did make interesting finds.

The CoRe is one of my all-time favorite detectors to use, and I 'Thank You' for sharing the settings and coil choice. Alwaays nice to know that.

Best of success on your next journey off to somewhere ????

Thanks Monte. I don't know where I'm going next. I might hit the same spot on the weekend or go to the beach for the first time with the Nokta. I just got the big 15 X 13 coil and I'd like to try it there. I didn't realize how big it was until I put it on the detector. It has to be the biggest coil I have ever used.
