forest park

n/t

the next trip we made a few weeks later we hunted over 3 hours before either of us even dug a coin:surrender:...so you just never know.

Coins are very tough to find there unless you find a spot where some dirt has been moved but there is still a chance of finding coins in with trash...or at least that seemed to be why we were finding the coins we did.

We even fought through some parts that were still all grown over with trees and high grass towards accross the road from the bottom of the pavillion hill.

Keep us posted....and I would appreciate it.

well bryce ...digger sent you some info..... good luck reading up on it ,,,,its going to be a 5 year plan so we should have some good hunting over the next few years ,,,let me know if your headed this way ...

I'm drooling over the thought of metal detecting Forest Park all the way from Connecticut

Looking forward to it.

This second round of park improvements aren't nearly as extensive as the last round from 1995-2004. Much of the planned work is continuation of the original 10 year plan that wasn't implemented and won't result in much old dirt being disturbed except for a few spots. Some work and persistance will be required to make some finds in the areas that will be disturbed.... if they aren't fenced off to detectorists :( Looking forward to seeing what goes down the next few years out there...

hopefully that combined with some dirt being moved will open things up some.
When I went there with Bryce and Dave the signals were few and far between unless they were mixed in with junk.
They WERE there though if you were patient and could make it through the boredom of the sometimes long spells of silence...lol.
The new different coils we have today do help some too with separation and how they relay the signal to the headphones.

all the countries of the world were represented, so i assume they had coins. plus there are vacant lots on Lyndel adjacent to the park where exhibits were.
