Foreign coins...Found a Pound...

Found a Pound...hey, that rhymes!
I am still amazed at the amount of foreign coins I find here in Kansas.
Not only the amount, but from several different countries, too.
The pic below was taken last year, and except for the Bahamanian dime, (a very beautiful coin!), which was found in Bama, all the rest came from here.
I have added many more to this collection since I took this pic.

This is a 50 centavo Mexican coin I found the other day, but even cooler is this British pound coin I dug up on the hunt before.
About the size of a nickel, but way, way thicker.
Came in as zinc.
I have never seen a coin so thick, and it is worth almost $1.60 in our money.
Finding these gives me a good excuse to do some research and learn about the money used in other countries...and finding this Pound is way cooler and it is way better than digging 160 stinkin zincolns!

thats a heavy coin, nice going

very cool coin collection

Cool foreign coins. I' ve found a 20 pence British coin and a 1946 Chinese 50 (not sure about China's denominations) this last couple of weeks. The way our economy is going, they may be worth more than ours! Anyway,, keep up the great hunts!
