Ford thing??

The thing is 1-1/2" round, concave and not sure if made of brass?? Steel?? It says Ford in fancy (F) and made in USA
 
An old hub cap. Before our time they were much smaller, than what we know as a hubcap today. I would guess it is from the 30's or earlier.
 
Really? a hubcap that is only 1-1/2 inches.. did it go on a larger piece?? any idea what kind of car?? Thanks for your input!!
 
looks like the wheel bearing cap minus the sides... I think they were on the model T .... they were always made out of brass as far as I know... check it with a magnet... anyway that's my guess.....
 
Bumper or trim medallion 26 and later model ford car. Hubcaps were 2 1/8,to 2 1/4 inch OD, also
were threaded with an octagon built in for a hubcap wrench.
