Ford Cap?

virginia

New member
Hi, can anyone identify this Ford cap? Found today at an old park, along with the bullet shaped tip. Not sure what it is either. Lead weight or bullet. Thanks. The lead weight measures 3/4 inch long by 1/2 wide.

Here's a start, though the seller doesn't seem to be too sure anything...

From the link below...

Vintage Ford Brass Hub Cap Model T?

Description: FORD MOTOR COMPANY HUB CAP: This hub cap is in excellent condition. There are a few scratches on the top which look like they are from the removal of the hub cap from the tire and there is a very tiny dent in the edge. It is made of brass. There is a thread pattern on the inside. It appears that this was installed by screwing it onto the wheel like a jar lid. The top of the hub cap is signed "Ford Made in U.S.A. W". I am making a huge guess regarding the age of the hub cap and the model of the car which may have used it. Please look at the pictures to determine if this is the item you seek. If you have any questions, please send an email. I will answer. Thanks for your interest.

Looks like yours has the "scalloped" edges and the type style of 1914-1921 (note the extra flourish at the top right of the "o" in 1922.)
