Forcing myself to hunt in Jewelry mode only this weekend.

Going to take the Edge out and see if I can exchange a pocketful of clad for some gold.
Hunt strictly in jewelry mode and stop taking the time out to dig clad, cover more ground and see
if I can find some gold. After finding two gold rings last weekend with my Tesoro and found out that the two rings were
worth close to $400 gold content, that sure beats pocket of clad worth $10.00 or less.......gold fever has set in.

I don't know the Edge machine, how do you set it up for just jewelry? Sounds interesting to me.

Thanks,

If I'm right the ID Edge has some preset modes (programs) and one is a jewelry mode.

Mark

Yes it does have some preset programs.

That's pretty neat, and from your results I would say it works pretty good. I don't know the cost of an ID Edge, but with your 2 finds I would say you just about payed for your detector. Can't wait for your weekend results report.

You are right it takes a clad coins to reach the value of just about any size gold.

Good luck,

Yup found with the Eldo Umax.
Now after spending several hours air testing the Edge (8" coil) and Eldo in all metal mode, single tone. The Edge is deeper and the audio language appears to be better.
Gold rings on edge give off a "wa-bit" sound, the Eldo in all metal gives the same sound if on edge or lying flat.
Found air testing in disc modes between the two, the Edge is deeper. The rings on edge give off a "it-it" sound.
Something to listen for.

Now I wish I can go back to that soccer field that I found the rings at and hunt with the Edge in Jewelry Mode or just plain all metal mode. There may still be some gold that I missed with the Eldo that the Edge would pick up. Unfortunately, wife has the car this week and is out of town, spotted new water system piping on the field over the weekend, it looks like they are ready to do some more digging for it.

The Edge is turning out to be an excellent machine if you want to take the time and learn it. To bad it was dropped from the Fisher line-up.

Sorry about no car this weekend, maybe next weekend you can turn that Edge loose. A little air testing never hurts.

Good luck with that Edge
