For those who want to save money buying used recharable battery packs.

Have seen a lot of used Sovereign rechargeable battery packs on EBay, Like everyone else was curious so I got three of these rechargeable packs at very low prices. Description from the seller held a full charge last time used, LOL kind of like saying the use car for sale was only driven by the little old lady to church. I didn't expect much so here's the results. First my rechargeable pack as a benchmark was made from AAA batteries run time in the field 12.5 Hours. The best used rechargeable battery off of EBay had a run time of 10 hours, not too bad as a backup and even though had the ear tabs broken off replaced with the one from an old battery pack. The second place battery had a time of 4 hours, which not enough for a backup. The third one had a run time of 3.5 hours not really good for a backup. At the local Batteries Are Us store the guy behind the counter told me, no problem, he had the batteries I needed and would wire them in the same series. This was a simple and easy fix until I asked his price, which was $96.00 plus tax. I decided for other options.

I had the guy at batteries plus replace the cells in one of mine,he said he would give me some sort of discount, i didnt believe him till i saw your quoted price ,ouch.. im not sure but think i paid around $70 or thereabouts.. i like them, they seem to charge much faster even than the gt battery pack when it was brand new...

I assume very well but i dont hunt as long as i use to,maybe 4 or 5 hrs and im one of those guys that always tops off the battery the night before i hunt.. if i can hunt longer than a battery will hold a charge then i know it's time to replace.lol.. i haven't been monitoring the voltage before and after hunts but when i do recharge the green light goes out after about 1 hour..

The rechargeable battery packs for the Sovereign GT & Elite have a small circuit board on the other side of the charging port. I've heard this dual purpose circuit will prevent over charging the battery pack and decharging the battery pack too low while draining. More complex than the battery packs for the older Sovereigns.
