For those who never met my detecting buddy Ken

Pete in MI

New member
Here is a pic of him and I at the Stone School earlier this year (summer) - comparing who found the biggest nail (I win  )

Here is Ken - first time using a detecotr in his front yard - using the Garrett GTAx 1250. (His first find was a quarter too!).

Not only does he detect in the summer but here he is today (never made it to 40 degrees) at our local beach park - pretty scene isn't it?

Notice a difference in the attire? Ya have to keep warm on days like this. We found dirt areas were frozen solid so going to this playground was our best bet - and even at that 4 inches down the sand was frozen.

Here is Ken looking for something. BTW He is the proud owner now of that Garrett GTAx 1250 and he loves it. (I was using the ACE 250).

Ken found a quarter under the swings:

While Ken was detecting under the swings a realtor pulled up to the building on the other side of the fence - (putting up or taking down a for sale sign) and the realtor told Ken that we were dedicated detectorists because he has already put away his detector for the winter. (Great more competition - )

Well, Ken did better than I did. He got a quarter and I found a dime.
Probably could have done better if we had brought hammers and chisels to break the frozen ground. This might be the last hunt for the year but wanted to share some pics with you all.

looking site to detect !! I can visualize all kinds of goodies there but probably not if you guys didn't get many. Thx for the pics, Steve in so az

you guys had a great time. Most of the time it's about having fun and not so much if we hit the jackpot.

more fun to have a hunting partner and next spring when the ground thaws out may you both have fun detecting and good luck in finding the goodies!

God Bless!
