For those who love to ask "which is better, a CZ or an Excal"...........

Heres the results of both machines at separate hunts today. The left photo are the finds of the CZ-20 from a dive of about 45 minutes. The beach was cleaned out, and the only targets found were in deeper water.
The second photo shows the finds of the repaired Excal at a second beach. I've been hitting this beach for about two weeks, and targets are getting scarce, but the signals were steady and reliable.
So, whats the "best" detector??? .........You decide!

I own a cz-20 and a excal,I find that they both work great for what I use them for. In fast moving water the excal is to heavy and balkey. The cz-20 is just wright .In open sea the excal is great. I have two land detectors a CZ3D and 6000 DI Pro.What kind of detector
you use is up to you ,there is PRO's and CON's on all detectors. It's up to you .Happy hunting From S.W.FLA. Ron Lord

As for finding the loot let's face it, you can knock on Davey Jone's Locker door but it's up to him whether or not it's going to be open for you. Understanding things like beach erosion, the lane, the towel line, sanding and other factors that increase the probability of a Hit! are important, but it still comes down to luck in the end.

Wishing us all the Best of Luck,

I will take the pull tab group anytime over the coin group.

Pull tabs, Foil = Gold jewelry, and yes bobby pins at the low end. Clad coins are just that, clad crap.

Actually, to rely on just one detector to find everything, your going to miss a lot. One can always hunt with brand A, go right behind it with brand B, and find targets brand A missed. It's the nature of the beast.

You use what you feel is best for your hunting conditions at the time.

Have a nice day.

Normally I disregard the duck quack tone of iron.
I like both units equally well. As you say, a matter of personal preferences.
On the plus side, the CZ will go nearly 40 hours on a set of batteries compared to a maximum of 10 for the Excal.
The Excal has a better signal strength and width however.
Six of one, half a dozen of another.
