I have notice on my XS II I have been using audio 1 on a yard that I get some very good signals, but when I go to pinpoint it there is no signal in all metal. Some of these when pinpointed in iron mask or smart screen I can find which has been some rusty nails and one was even a nice copper cover that have been super deep. I am using a 8 inch Sunray coil as I thought my stock coil was bad and still digging over 14 inches. It seems like the audio one give it much more depth, but all metal pinpoint will not get these real deep ones.
Audio 1 is not to be used where there is alot of surface targets as even a pulltab will sound like it is 10 inches in dia. When using the S1 probe also it makes it harder to pinpoint, but works fine in all metal pinpoint.
At this time I think that audio one will work good for those areas we have pounded and got the surface targets out of the way as i can go faster than I did before and still hear a good target. I dont think it would work good in heavy trash.
What I find odd is that it will get a good signal in iron mask, or smart screen, but will not in all metal pinpoint. The crosshairs have been top right corner, digital was 0 Ferrous and 30 conductivity on the one big nail that was down over 12 inches. the bigger copper lid that was over 14 inches was 0 ferrous and 25 conductivity and both were repeatable, but the nail only one way as when i turned i lost it untill I turned again at 180 degrees from original reading. Both of these plus some others sounded so good, the depth meter was on the very bottom and dont think I would have heard these if i had been running normal audio.
I had tried the audio one before when learning the Explorer and didnt like it, but see now why Minelab says it may be more for the maxiumum depth for those that have some exerience with the Explorer. I just wish it would see these targets in all metal pinpoint better.
Going to try some of my old worked out parks if it ever stops raining when I have time to try it.
