It was really neat finding stuff from the last battle of the last day of the Civil War.

... cause I would have called you .... even though it was VERY TOUGH hunting in thick pine and scrub tree woods .... lots of junk, and very faint signals on the good stuff. Not very many finds for the hours five of us put in. Your phone number is (was) on the cell phone I lost last year. Bummer!

I found only 9 bullets and 2 Spencer cartridges. One of the cartridges is in good enough shape to re-insert the bullet. hese were dropped as their was no rim fire marks. did find a few fired rounds. We were hunting private property that bordered the park .... right up the road about 1/2 mile from the surrender house.

... trying to tie in a trip to see my Dad along with a 3 day (5 days with travel) detecting event plus travel time to and from Florida is about the max for me that time of the year.

Besides, I don't think Vernon and Sharon are really ready for me and my buddy Keith plus you two ... and who ever else you've invited .... HA! Are you holding some type of detecting event at Vernon's? What's the entry fee?
