Download the owners manual off the Internet as none is in the box as some has said before. Read it over a time or 2 to help you understand the settings and how to get to them. I found I had to look at mine several times while checking it out and still have a ways to go to see how all the functions work and haven't even got into the GPS. Another thing is when putting the lower rod into the upper one be sure to put it in the right direction as it only goes one way. I had to tie a string on the cable when I put mine together as it was coiled tight and it wouldn't quite reach the end of the shaft to connect it to the control box, so with the string I could stretch the cable out of the lower rod to connect.
Did a little playing around with it in my Bar i own that I try all my detector in which has a lot of nails and other metal items in the floor and it ran extremely quiet until I went over one of the coins on the floor, so it is impressive from what I have seen so far.
