Most of us have been detecting for years and way before it ways cool " American diggers hatchlings " you have to go by the code of ethics and do it right and ask for permission to hunt and don't leave holes everywhere ok! Angry Hank.com

Well the uncovered holes from MDing have tapered off a lot on my beach. But what is weird is that a family cane come out with big shovels to make sand castles or bury dad and nobody cares. They dont ever fill them in. I was talking to another MDer who said they might prohibit MDing on this beach because a jogger stepped in a hole and messed up her ankle. Its automatically a MDer to blame..HH

I've only been doing this for about a month, but I fill the holes and try to make them as nice or nicer than they were. I'd hate for someone to injure themselves because of me.

Sounds like your doing a great job Abel, I try to spend as much time covering up as I did digging it, and pick up trash that I might see in the area I'm detecting, Best of luck Hank

I've even tried putting the worms back inside

LoL! I need to step it up!:detecting:

Of all the beaches I have detected here in Australia I have never seen a detector hole other than my own.
I have seen a great many holes (Huge Holes! )left by mums and dads and the kids after fooling around in the sand as well as rubbish such as bottles, bottle tops, tent pegs, brocken glass, needles, fully loaded babies nappies (buried in the sand or jamed down between the rocks) wire , fish hooks, opened fruit cans with the lids still attached just waiting for someone to step on them; Knives , forks, plastic bags, fishing line to entrap birds, chicken bones that will choke segulls..
And councils complain about detector holes!! and want to ban detecting! Give me a break!! We clean up a lot of this mess.

When I am done with my holes, "I" cannot even find them half the time....I take pride in that...

HH,

If a city wants to ban detecting, then what you need to do is get everyone you can find in your city who detects or who is detecting friendly to go to the next city council meeting and protest against it, stating the fact that we abide by our code of ethics, and that we are actually doing a public service by picking up and removing trash and dangerous items from beaches, parks, schools, and tot lot. Maybe bring in a few garbage bags full of the stuff you have removed over the last month, and drop it all on the floor for them to view...See what they have to say then...If they continue, you ramp up your campaign to public protests asking for the removal of the city council members that want to ban your hobby...see how fast they change their tunes...

HH,

Very true,
