Thanks though - you're right, it's a trove of great pictures and information.

Ever since I saw that picture of the steamboat parked along the Merrimack I've been imagining the stuff that has to be down in that area of the water!!!

This winter I'm going to spend a few days at the Hampton and/or Salisbury libraries seeing what kind of information and pictures I can dig up as well.

I HAVE SPENT 100'S OF HOURS SEARCHING FOR INFO ANY WHERE I THOUGHT I COULD FIND IT. I REALLY MISS THE SALISBURY OF THE 70'S AND 80'S WHEN THE AMUSEMENTS WERE STILL THERE,THE FROLICS WAS STILL STANDING..ALL GONE NOW!! JUST THE ROTTING SHELL OF THE PAVILLION STILL STANDING.I GOT MY FIRST SILVER BEACH COIN AND INDIAN HEAD PENNY'S RIGHT BESIDE THE PAVILLION!! SAD ITS ALL GONE..:nopity::cry:

Down here is ancient fishing sinkers and 50cal machine gun ammo. When we start finding them the silver coins start to show up along with older jewelry.

I wish I had been around to see that kind of thing - coming out here only 3 years ago I missed out on alot.

You know what's funny is before I went out there the first time, I had this vision in my head of nice quant cottages with white picket fences, well painted and taken care of - hotels, a nice boardwalk etc...

Some of it lived up to it's expectations, but I couldn't believe the number of run down properties out there! I saw some older postcards of the area, and THAT is what I had pictured - it's too bad things have changed so much - and not always for the best.

I hope to be able to spend a good long snowy Saturday in the local libraries picking up as many hints as I can to good hunting spots

Thanks for the links and info.
