Went to Nahant beach sunday with Metaldig, everything was frozen except down low,I got 11 clad coins and various junk.Deep, deep deep targets

This was going to be my first winter hunting since I moved to NH, but I only ventured out a few times around Christmas. Looks like a chance for a decent storm Tuesday/Wednesday, but not sure it's gonna last long enough to change the sands for good hunting.

That said, I'm thinking of taking Friday off this week since we have President's Day off Monday (may as well have a long weekend!). If the storm seems like it did anything, I'll probably head out Friday sometime.

Can't wait for spring!!

Today is 63 days since my right shoulder surgery and I HAD to get out. Beach in Beverly was frozen and sanded up and all I got were 2 bottle caps, 6 pulltabs, three zinc pennies and a 1967 quarter. Too cold, the wind was too hard but just getting out again and it felt great!

nice to see you feeing better. Hopefully the storm will bring good fortune.Like I said fri. noontime I'll be plundering the beaches of Aruba. Good luck anf happy hunting

MassSandman,

I haven't been out detecting since the 70's until I bought an Xterra 70 this past week. Been out twice on the Hampton beaches with no luck but false signals.

This is the second time I've heard someone refer to the beach as "sanded in/up" what exactly does this mean?

Regards,
Ron in NH

Ron: Sorry I coldn't get back on here until today. didn't want you to think I was being rude and not responding to you. I think George answered your questions, though, about sanded up beaches. Hoping for a good solid Nor'easter. HH ~Rich
