broke out of jail. The authorities looked for them for several days to no avail, 'bout the third or fourth day the cons walked out onto a roadway to turn themselves in, saying they just couldn't take those chiggers no more. Ya know, I had never thought of chiggers as a tool of law enforcement.
Now when I lived out in Hossier Land, we would put clear finger nail polish over them if they had burrowed in, seemed to kill them in about 24hrs, otherwise you could suffer for days.
You should see the looks I get when I tell people in Northern New England that "Black Flies(small biting flies)" are just chiggers with wings! Another two weeks or so and the ticks and "Black Flies" will show up in force around here, ouch.
