For all the experts on bayonets or old ships..I have a question about a couple of finds..

Found these two interesting items ( could be sections of one entire piece) ...one year apart at same location.

Larger piece measures 11 1/4 " ; smaller piece measures 7 1/4 "

Have received a two ideas as to its indentification: #1) a kind of slat that was used to keep the wooden beams of a ship's side together...the flat side down would be secured into a brace which connected and held together the wooden beams

#2) sections of a triangular musket bayonet.

I would appreciate any comments regarding the ID of this /these items

thank you
Lorraine
