For a 14 year old what would you advise?:look::huh:

You might find a used Tesoro Compadre for around that price. Also a nice, lite and professional machine.

Bounty Hunter makes a couple under $100.

But if you can get a Comapdre she would have a great machine.

The Compadre sells for $152.

I got mine for $70, but that was a rare find.

And my best find, I might add.

I have three more expensive detectors,

but the Compadre gets the most use.

HH,

I have a radio shack Jr kind that cost $60.00 (well it did 3 years ago when I bought mine) it only has 2 dials one to turn it off and on and one for discriminating so it is easy to use and works as well as the expensive ones.

Another vote for the Compadre - if purchased new it has a lifetime warranty although Tesoro is very good about handling any machine that has to be sent in.

I say to save a little more and get a Garrett Ace 150 or even better an Ace 250!!!

The Ace 250 is no slouch, I have found all kinds of great stuff. It also has target ID and a built in pinpointing ability.

For her money, the Bounty Hunter Junior at $69.00
It will discriminate and find coins in parks and School
grounds and tot lots. Tell her to practice watching the coil
as she swings while keeping the coil level. The targets
will always be loudest under the center of the coil, that's
how you pinpoint. Go to: www.bountyhunter.com

P.S. She can also find a good deal on the BH Fast Tracker
at $99.00 from: http://www.kellycodetectors.com

Good Luck!:yikes:

Look on Amazon's website for the "High Performance Explorer" metal detector. Heard lots of good things about it from users on another forum. Should be worth a try for $60.

I'm sorry to say your not going to get much for $100.
If you can afford to make a gift to her of an extra $100 then she
can get an Ace 250 made by garrett
or an F2 made my First Texas/Fisher.

Garrett's Ace 250 is $199 and includes shipping.
Fishers F2 is $199 and comes with an EXTRA COIL!!!! Great buy.

RR

If I could afford it I'd buy you the dang thing myself and send it to you!

Be patient. It will happen if you let it! She will be out there with you side byside
finding great stuff!
