Just read Exodus chapter 32. Moses was in the mountain receiving the tablets with the ten commandments. He was taking a while and the people decided to make a golden calf and worship it. They were taking part in a celebration that God did not approve of. As the account goes on some 3000 people were put to death that day.
What about things we partake of and celebrate? Do they have scriptural basis? Do the customs we celebrate have pagan origins, yet religious leaders actually change what they supposedly mean and put fancy titles on them? Research what you are doing folks.
