Followed the bulldozers to a promising site.................<>

I was driving down the old high way close to my house and saw a cut-out where they
were putting in a new subdivision. I drove in the other day and saw where there may
have been an old house site, and the ground was not taken away yet.

Today I decided to check it out. This is why I favor the Vaquero over the Cibola in this
area. The globs that look like rocks are deposits left by running under ground water
that has varying amounts of minerals and iron. If you sweep your coil in all metal mode
there will be constant responses. Before I knew about ground balanceing, I thought that
it was just not much there. With the Vaquero, I can get fairly good depth, but I have to
put up with a lot of noise.

I will bring the V and the Euro next time.

My second signal was my one and only coin. A 1942 nickle. Then I found an old fire pit
and came up with some melted aluminum globs ( Alien Rocks ). I found an old pocket
knife, a square nail, a neat brass and copper buckle of some kind, an old pot and some
porcelain pieces. I found a horseshoe, an old brass lock, some whatitzs and a real cool
little brass bell. The ringer is rusted out.

I'm going to find where the structures were either by Google Earth or USGS Topo map.
Then I'll hunt it again. I feel there are better finds there, somewhere. We'll see.

Thanks for looking,
