Burdick Road in Oxford at Cemetery hill has been stripped down to about a foot for repaving the road.I got permission from the road crew, but I must wear a orange safety vest and detect after their work hours in the evening. My first search I took the Sovereign and got little hunting accomplished, everyone kept asking me when the job was going to be completed, with the vest on people thought I was with the county.I did get an hour in and found a 1929 penny caked in asphalt,an old flat button and a Yamaha motorcycle key. This was a good search considering that asphalt was still underneath the gravel.Couldn't search for a couple of days Volunteered to help at a Cross Country Drivers event.I invited a couple of friends to search the peeled off road, they used other expensive brands of detectors and they couldn't handle the road, their results no finds on the road but they did find newer coins in the grass by the sidewalk.I was able to get out for another short hunt but took the Explorer,IMHO the Sovereign worked much better in the gravel/asphalt,no finds with the SE because of the extra work to pin point. This very difficult ground requires precise pin point location and ID of the target. Bottom line in the field the Sovereign works extremely well. Some photos of the road and one of the Driver event. HH Ron
