Folks using non-Garrett headphones ?

Now that the Garrett headphone adapter's been out for a bit, I was curious if folks found their headphones to sound better then the stock "TreasureWise" headphones that come with the AT Pro?

I have Sunray Golds and Killer B's (essentially the same as the Sunrays), but the audio seems to be pretty good on the stock Garretts, so aside from a longer cable, I'm wondering if there's much advantage?

I'm sure you're enjoying a longer headphone cable

Thanks!
Brian

Can't help you out on those brands but my Grey Ghost suck on the AT Pro...However.....my Timberwolfs are DYNAMITE!!!!!

Very clean audio response frequency and the Timberwolfs are a lot louder! Hope this helps some.

Brian I am using the Golds. Much better sound. You can use the limiter to have softer sounds. HH....Z

I am now using my favorite Killer B Stinger headphones which I am very happy with. I do not hear enough of a difference between the stock Garrett headset and the Killer Bs to be worth mentioning. I think the Garrett headphones are great and have been satisfied with them when I use them. I just prefer a single phone headset and now that I have the adapter I am delighted to have my favorite headset on my favorite detector. :garrett:

I have Killer Bees hooked to my ATP right now. I think the Garretts are louder but they are very bulky.
If the bulk don`t bother you stick with the Garretts.

Got the adapter last week but have been way to busy to install it or even go hunting. I hope to give it a try this coming week because I have a new set of headphones that I made and really want to see how they work.

I've been using my Killer B's for a while now( on land) and love it. I hate I had to switch back to Garrett water headphones for water hunting. They just don't sound right to me and you can not adjust the volume.

I Finally got to try the AirHeadz's tonite on the ATP and they sounded INCREDIBLE!!! Only wish I could take them in the water...

Same here. An unbelieveable difference beween the Timberwolf's and the Garrett's. I don't how anybody can use the Garrett's. The Timberwolf's are so crisp and clear. To bad they aren't made anymore. I have 2 pair thanks to Rick (ND).

The Garret phones have good sound but the comfort level is terrible at best. Heavy, awkward and bulky. I use the Sunray pro gold phone for the AT and my MXT.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I appreciate it. Even if the sound is no better on brand _______ headphones, at least the cable length is increased which will increase the comfort factor 100 fold

No question aftermarket headphones sound WAY better. I made my own adapter before Garrett released. I use Killer B headphones. Sound clear. Stock headphones seemed a bit muffled sound wise. No question an adapter is the way to go.
