If you haven't read it ...READ IT NOW AND COME BACK TO THIS POST.



Here is how it is exactly done in the field or at least how I do it.

Hit the menu button, the one that looks like an open book, and scroll over to audio.
Now scroll down to response and change it to smooth. Hit the detect button and start
hunting. As soon as you hit a target that is within the pattern you are using and
believe me you will hear it, hit the menu button and scroll down to response and switch
back to normal to locate and pinpoint it. If you have the nickel pattern setup right
you will never forget that sound in the smooth setting And will never miss another Nickel!
After you retrieve your target switch back to smooth and go after another target.

Settings for my search mode....These are important!!!!
Multi
Conduct
Audio Tone ID Variability 30
Audio Tone Id Limits 30
Audio Threshold Pitch 30

Tried Smooth for the first time today and it made a world of difference for me. I like it so well I didn't switch back to normal all day. Smooth was a big step in the right direction for me.
