Foggy conditions...

Joe G

New member
Went to the beach this morning and was greeted with heavy fog and a fairly stiff wind. Within 20 minutes or so, my Exp II became extremely erratic. I take it this was due to the heavy moisture in the air? (I did have the dust jacket on the control box)

Once home, the machine appeared to be working fine.

Anyone ever deal with this?

Thanks.

But indeed high humidity, high heat or extreme cold can affect any electrical component..I would indeed use a cover as every little bit helps...

Were you running in manual or auto sensitivity? I have had problems with auto at places when I used to use the Explorer in auto. I mainly use manual almost all of the time.

yep, I tried auto and manual and everything else I could think of. No change. I was sure it had to do with all the moisture.

However, I went out this past Saturday and it was clear (no fog). Hunted for a while and all of a sudden, it started getting all erratic on me again. I was not happy. I decided to check all of the connections; to the X-1 and the main one at the control box. Took the one off the control box and put it back on, getting it as tight as I could. Started it back up and the problem went away... I have about 6 hours on it since and haven't had the problem.

Joe,

Glad to hear you might have fixed your problem.
