Flying with the Deus

Has anyone taken their Dues as a carry on? I'm thinking of breaking it down to fit in a backpack although before I check my bag, I would love to know if the airlines allow this. The batteries are what concerns me. I'm planning on having my owners manual with me just in case...

I've always broke mine down and packed it in with my checked bag.
Never had a problem and it has been checked by the TSA.
I usually put my manual on top in the bag.

I used the backpack that I got for it. Fits the coil and had no trouble just put the Manuel in the pack also and unzip it.

I checked all of my Deus stuff in a special case I got and had no issues at all......

My Deus goes in the carry on always and never had a question yet even international. I do cover the coil light with a spot of tape as suggested here.

I cover up the white blinking battery indicator light on the coil with black electrical tape.

Yes, several people told me to do this also.
The coil's flashing lights could be very alarming to untrained eyes !

Also - I was told that Lithium type batteries (as used in the Deus ) are not allowed in the cargo hold of any commercial aircraft.
They are very dangerous when exposed to fire.
So ... always pack your Deus in a carry on bag !
