NASA Super Guppy landing in Amarillo delivering the fuselage for a Bell Helicopter V-22 Osprey. The Guppy was a regular visitor here until Bell decided to have the V-22 parts trucked in instead of flown by NASA. It was a real treat to see that thing landing and taking off. Seeing it in the air is amazing, makes you think if IT can fly anything can. Here is a link to the Guppy homepage for more info.

I remember many year ago, a large air plane landed at Kelly AFB that had the space shuttled tied on top of it. It is amazing how large these air planes can be. Thanks for sharing this neat picture and story. Kelley (Texas) :)
 
That sure is a weird plane but it does the job. I've seen that on the news before.....almost looks like it can't fly! Great shot!
 
I believe this aircraft used to hold the record for being the worlds most capacious..........it certainly holds the title of most unusual.I would imagine that the upper deck probably adds to the lift of the aircraft.
