Flying cent and riced silver

Squeezed in a quick hunt about an hour before dark Saturday. Location is a small field infront of an old orchard - both VERY overgrown (used to be an old farmhouse at one time). Part of the field was being used to store replacement piping during roadwork. There was a small area that had been mowed down
so the pipes could be placed temporarily. I noticed yesterday that the pipes were gone - so you know what my mission was!
The search didn't produce alot of targets but I did sqeeze out a 1902-o Barber dime and an 1857 flying eagle cent. (the ground was hard and stoney and I wound up ricing the dime). Also found a toasted wheatie and a couple small strap buckles.

Nice finds drkp. Would love to find one of those cents.

That is cool you found a flying eagle. We have all scratched a coin bud so don't worry about it.

I'd like to find a FE cent! Congratulations on a fairly rare find....at least not too many on the forums!

Hey.. at least it was the Barber and not the FE. Ive gotten one this year and they arent just laying around anywhere. So that was a great find.
