Florida & North Carolina detecting

detecting

New member
My Tracker IV will be arriving tomorrow. I live in Cape Coral Florida (winters) and Franklin N.C. summers. I am BRAND NEW to this hobby and wonder if any of you might give me a few pointers for Florida (beach & rivers) & North Carolina (mountains, streams & rivers)
detecting ?

Both areas seem to be history rich with pirates, Indians & war battles.

Thanks for any help .. it is very much appreciated.

I have the TrackerIV it is a good machine, however it is not a deep seeking machine. A couple of tips for it is, 1. go slow, Keep it nice and slow 2. Dig them all until you know your machine. 3. Have fun with it, don't make it a job. good luck with your new machine.

G'day mate,
I'm not sure wheather you are using the little BH for hunting in the water, but I think you'll find it will be a bit unstable.
I own a Minelab Excal for water use and BH tracker IV for hunting the dry beaches and around old housing sites.
I was told by the local BH dealer that if you leave the coil in the water for 10/15 mins or so it seems to adjust itself to mineralisation.
I personally haven't tried that beacause I own a water machine.
The Tracker is a flamin' little ripper on coins etc, and nice and light too.
Anyway, cheers and welcome to our wonderful and sometimes crazy hobby.
