i'm looking for a spot where i can do the above mentioned activities as far as detecting is concerned i would prefer calm water(fresh or salt). i am considering Sebastian state park but i'm looking for other options in south Florida east or west coast.
thanks for any suggestions!

As a general rule, the Gulf Coast waters tend to be calmer than the east coast.

Lots of state parks that allow all of the above .....with limitations to detecting.MDing is allowed on beaches and shorelines at many on the west coast.... some ask you get a permit for the day,Like Fort DeSoto in Pinellas County(has all your looking for)....The west coast is,as smudge said alot more calm and forgiving....The keys are best for snorkel and diving...........camping sucks in the summer, unless you got an RV??......nights are still too HOT,mosquitoes too BIG...cold fronts a month away.... other than rain, they have no punch to make a difference yet....GL HH
