Flooded Equinox

Very curious as to why post of flooded equinox's are being deleted from the forum, if these machines are having problems users should be aware of the risk.

Im aware of Maxs and Gigmaster who has the flooded screen..... only two i know of, others have mentioned the black screen. Guess im not paying attention ive not seen a post go poof. I had some names blanked in a post........ but Elton PMed me on that and explained why. Theres going to be a few with all kinds of issues..... mostly those being used in the salt water........ so far thats what its been. Most do...... ATpro.... CTX.... Xcal.... CZ even still.

If water is on the agenda it’s a good idea to have a backup machine! So far I’ve only had a few hours with the machine about 2’ down while wading. So far so good...

If flooding is a serious problem, then the forums will accumulate data on it - deleting references to it would be futile and wrong if the forum in question wishes to retain any integrity. I am not aware of any deleted flooded Nox posts, but I thought my count was 3 - I guess I need to start keeping a log.

Salt water, heating of a glass fronted thin black box full of electronics and immersing it into much cooler water. I’m glad I don’t design metal detectors!

So trur Rick. Ive got a lot of hours in the water with mine. Im normally the guy ML sees first lol. Bound to be a few...anyone know of a water machine that dont occasionally rewuire a fix let me know. My thing is plan for it.

Dew is right on. I have three CZ's and two Tiger Sharks. Two of my CZ's died last week and a Tiger Shark the week before. The Equinox also has a problem. I am in the water at least 4 days a week and up to 9 hours a day. There is a reason I have back-up machines. Unfortunately my favorite go-to machines both died. I am not rough on them. I keep them in the back seat of my truck. But I use them a lot. Bound to have problems.

I'm sure you take precautions leaving them in your truck, such as layers of towels to prevent heating them up. The seals in water machines don't like to go from hot ambient air that heats the bodies to cool water. Even preparing to go in the water, if I'm hanging around the shore for any period prior I cover them if it's really hot. We have a beach house and by the time I set up the umbrella, cooler etc for the misses and chit chat with neighbors or the curious while getting my wet suit on (wading) the direct sunlight is not good. So far I've been lucky with only a 1280X and a CZ flooding plus one Excalibur battery pod. Any detector in my vehicle turf or surf is well covered in layers. Yes backups are  a must.

The reason some are deleted..... is not to hide issues ..It's because many posters turn it into a comparison post..or a bashing post.
Using other brands in their posts. Comparisons between models is allowed in the Metal Detecting forum.. to a point.. Total intentional bashing is not allowed on any sub forum.

In fact, the owner had nothing to do with the posts being removed. Mods, and administrators removed them. Give it a break with attacking, "slanted opinions". Unless you know with out a doubt as to the "WHY". This is and has always been a business venture forum. Not a member driven forum. We are all Guest members here..of which the majority are exceptional participants.

When a sub forum has sponsors..they do not expect their competitors brand to be touted as perfect on a publicized forum their paying for. While their product is being criticized for every problem.
