... For you lakers, could you show some pics of the flipbox you use? I'm going to make one up and am just scrounging for ideas.
 
Are you refering to a floating sifter?
 
Sorry, I guess I got the terminology wrong. Some people also call them screen boxes.
 
Check out this old post from back when I made a very cheap,(but works great)sifter. This post is from China -clipper his pic . was clearer than mine. About 5.00 to 6.00 dollars to build. Tie a rope to your belt and away you go. Would not use in rough water unless you empty it as you find each item.

Ok, here's mine. I made this last year, and used it to search an old swimming hole that dates back to the 1870's.

The only thing I would do differently, if I make another one, is to not use hardware cloth for the sifter. Some of the targets I was pulling out were not readily identifiable, like fired bullets. I would have just used my Vibraprobe to get them, but, the hardware cloth makes that a bad idea.
