Flash Help

Well-known member
I have a Canon Digital Reble XTI and am interested in macro photography. I want to purchase a ring flash but can not afford the prices Canon get for theirs. I have had bad luck with the hundred dollar flashes too so could use a little input from others that have them and find them useful, what to buy and where to buy.

Get the small slave flash Ritz sells and experiment with adding layers of translucent material on it to lower the intensity. Works great. Just another option. Remember to turn off the Canon's 'pre-flash' function so it won't trigger the slave.

Check out the L-Ring Ultra II at http://www.srelectronics.com/. It works well for macro & closeups. I can't use it with my S3is, the lens is too big.
