Flaglers East Coast Railway

OK...lookin for a "GOOD" land detector.

Here's the situation....... I'm looking at a piece of property that used to have an old rail station on it (for Flagler's East Coast Railway). Railway is now gone but land is calling for a cleanup. The downside.....Has been a popular site for homeless, and that means tons (and I mean tons) of bottlecaps and tin cans. They closed it off with a fence (not a prob, I work for city), but the junk stays. Any recommendations for a detector (preferably under $800) that will ignore all that junk??

Heres and OLD pic from 1913.......

Damn...gotta try......

Excessive trash is a major problem to overcome, Hitman.

Perhaps a DeLeon and a 5.75 concentric coil????

One of the best in heavy trash is the Compadre.

I look for heavy trash, just to let the little bugger sniff.

Take it slow and easy and stuff just starts poping up

all over the place.

It is a money making machine in my hands.

I'm stoked. I just made some nice finds with

the little bugger this weekend.

HH,

f-75 with 6" "trash" coil on board!...piece of cake!

Thanks for input. Was thinkin about the Deleon, so guess that's what I'll get (after permission!!). Although, in marriage, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission. :argue:

We'll see.................

WOW! This excites me big time! I have done intensive railroad station work on the FL west coast with the Orange Belt Railroad Line in the Tampa Bay area. I too had a similiar situation with homeless people taking up residence in and all around my hunting area. I had a three week window to hunt before area was to be renovated for a bank to begin construction on the site. There is not a detector made at any price that will get around the junk and permit you to find the goodies. I took 3 - 55 gallon barrells of junk out my first day before I found a single coin. The good news is I got past the junk and found the best silver dollar in my collection and many other great coin finds from 1882 to 1922 and many railroad relics ranging in value from $2 - $250. I chose to use a vintage Fisher 1260 with a mini coil because the depth is not sacrificed with their small coils. I am amazed at the depth on the Fisher F2 using a 4inch coil to get in and around the junk. Tesoro and Garrett small coils are good too. Go For IT! Here's to "diggin it"! Larry
