Its been a not bad week for the time ive been able to put in.Very busy with the 3 girls home summer vacation and all.
Each hunt has been with them or them and the wife max hunts was 1 hour to 90 minutes.
First two hunts was back to my pounded out park and I produced very little other then getting wet ...dang etrac dont leave much .
Third and fourth hunts I went back to a school yard ive snagged a few silver from.I was getting started and a O fella came up to chat with me and come to find out he was a teacher around the area for 40+ years.
He gave the lay out of where the old football area and food stand was located.Plus a tip or two where old schools are located/rebuilt with some old turf still around.
So after a good 30-45 minutes of talking off I went to the food stand area.O boy I think all they did was throw the trash on the ground and play in the garbage cans .
I was able to pull up 1 merc and some wheats.Kids had to eat so off we went.Next day rain upon us for the evening hunt, but kids wanted to play(as I did),so off we went.
I went back to the same area and was able to pull 2 more mercs and a rossie plus some wheats. This time it was me the kids saying lets go eat.
Now for the one that has opened a new door for me.I got a tip from my family to hunt a park about 30-40 minutes from where we live.
So I gathered up the family and got the wife to make a picnic basket and off we went.Got out there and boy was the wind howling..30-40 miles per hour.
Wife gave me the look...so I gave her my pity look and won.So the kids are off and running as I am.First target I pull out is a indian..no clue on date,or how to clean it to get one.
Now im getting excited not many indians around here to be found as in most areas are late 1800's early 1900's.For the next hour all im getting is clad .
Then all of a sudden the park was getting packed with people...it aint a big park.Come to find out its free lunch day at the park.So im telling the eldest child to round up the posse we gonna head out.
As I was working my way back I got a great 11/47..12/48 signal at 5 inches.Last few I dug at 4-5 inches where clad, but as im not one to pass up a quarter I opened up the plug and hit roots that had this silver edge (that I hit) and pulled out my 1st barber quarter.
Sorry for the long post and heres the pics. Rich
