Five hours, My fingers are killing me. First official Headphone connector cover for any waterproof CTX headset.

Old California

Unlike the other days headphone connector post, that was not the type of headphone connector cover I had in mind. Sure, it was simple to construct but really not professional looking.

This morning, took the time to construct one from the ground up. A total of five hours from the drawing board to the final mounting onto the CTX, Poor fingers are a bit tuckered out but they pulled through.

This type of waterproof headphone connector cover will work with any headset, From Minelab to GrayGhost or any other type of waterproof headset the coil connector will be protected.

Hopefully, Someone takes this idea and runs with it selling the protective headphone connector cover for CTX users to purchase them from. I really feel they will sell a bundle, Maybe Minelab can produce them and include one with each purchase of a waterproof headset.

Can't reveal how I made it, let's just say if anyone wants to duplicate the cover you have my blessings.

Anyway, Will post the pics below, side by side in the first picture are the stock headset adaptor and to the right is the waterproof connector cover.

Thanks, I must be getting old..Several times called the headset connector a coil connector.

Thanks again,
Paul

Great workmanship Paul. Thanks for the post and the pictures. I took the liberty of editing your post to say headphone instead of coil. I hope that is OK! I also sent the link to this post to the folks at Minelab. Again, I hope you don't mind. HH Randy

Thanks Randy,

That is fantastic! Hopefully Minelab takes the idea and produces a connector cover for the waterproof headset.

The cover both protects the waterproof connector and enhances the appearance, Without the connector is like having a fancy sports car with the top half of the rear end missing.

Thanks again, So glad you forwarded this to Minelab

Hello Paul, Now that is actually what Minelab should have provided or at least made it a accessorie item. Excellent job Paul. Thanks for sharing!! EddieB

Thanks Eddie,

With Randy forwarding this post to Minelab, hopefully Minelab can run with this and have them available to purchase soon.

Even with a gray color will look nice, going to make another one in two weeks and experiment with gray.

Here's another shot different angle, the headset connector is protected inside a cylinder built into the cover.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

Thanks Bob,

Let's all rally together and encourage Minelab to add this to their CTX accessory line, Every CTX water user needs one.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

Looks very good, the trouble is in my opinion Minelab may loose sales of their yellow waterproof headphones, most detectorists I know use Grey Ghost, they are brilliant and would buy the cover for their CTX, you may have to market it as a aftermarket pattern part but hat may have implications on warranty.
