Fist Sand Shark Gulf hunt

offgridman

New member
Well got the Sand Shark in and hit the Gulf with it. I took the Garrett Ace 250 on the dry sand.
I am really pleased with both of my choices so far.
I found pennies in the water and a cheap earring that I left in the truck
The ring is my first. I was really thrilled to get it regardless of its value. Proves to me I can find one. :detecting:
The sun glasses are rayban's and look nice enough to wear and are not scratched on the glass hardly at all. Weird since they were two scoops down.
First impressions on the Sand Shark:
The coil needs weight added for water work
Need to get more velco wraps to tie up all the wire slack.
I like VCO mode more than Normal mode really sounds off. I keep switching between normal and VCO during the day.

Very Nice.....................Obn

Nice first ring with the Sand Shark.

If you want more weight on the coil, try moving the box to one of the lower rod positions, facing either behind the rod or move it in front.

I have mine snapped in right behind and below the arm cuff on the back (above the bend in the rod) and really like the balance in that position. I think that is the position that has the least weight on the coil.

I too prefer the VCO mode.
Cheers,
tvr
