Fist day with an Outlaw

Went to the po box and got my Tesoro Outlaw.
Its going to take me a little bit figuring out ground balance with this machine but I did go o the park and hunt for 2 hours.
I found
4 Quarters 1.00
3 dimes .30
3 nickles .15
16 pennies .16
----------------------
26 coins $1.61 and 5 rings. I do not believe them to get gold but i do not have a test kits. I'll try to upload a photo.
If I understand the ground balance here is how it should be done on the outlaw. If i am wrong please correct me.
Turn the machine on and wait 6 seconds for audio test to end.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Put machine into disc mode
adjust sensitivity
adjust threshold
put machine into all-metal
pump coil and note change in threshold
adjust ground balance
note change in threshold till it is the same and your done
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

here are the 6 rings i found yesterday.

By the way is there any way to fix the heading and add the missing "R"

the GB is touchy it wants to go one way or the other just a bit negate is best

Jim no I don't think so on the heading.

1st thing I look for on rings is cancer as in the surface is bubbling or coming away sure sign of junk, if no tell tail sign of that then weight, then look for any hall marks inside or out, also if its too shinny its probably junk, what else gold and silver just looks different to junk, and yes silver can blacken up, gold in the dirt will always be smooth and it just feels right.

if I still am not sure I put the piece in a rock tumbler if its junk it will shed its skin 99% of the time.

I agree I have noticed that from being positive to negative might be less than a tiny bit...

I think they were all pretty fresh drops.
The one with the pearl was the only on attracted to a magnet ait just next to the pearl.
The tiny one is the only one i think might be gold.

I recon you might be right the small one is different to the rest. any markings on the small one??

still a fun day and a few heart stoppers the highs and lows of detecting.

found a gold ring 2nd time out with the outlaw , nice machine and seems theres not so much love for it, any machine that finds gold is a keeper in my book :bouncy:

so well done on the day out!!

At what disc were you hunting at?

I put my disc just a bit past nickle and right before foil. I do move it to see where targets dissapear.
Today I had 1 or 2 that I coud not find and gave up on....Either they are big deep items like sprinlker boxes which the park I went to today has a few of or they are items I haven't yet figured out how to target yet. I do seem to do ok with the coil I am using I think its and 8.5 inch concentric donut. Just a few targets seem to be hard to find and I do not wish to dig large holes.
