Fisher's New Detector?

rob

Member
Spoke with a one of my fellow detectorist/distributor friends of mine and he mentioned that there may be an F-80 coming out this year (Fisher's 80 years in the business). Any news of this from any of you Fisher guys?

ps: By the way, I have to add that my F75 (and T2) have out performed all of the big guns out there. I have tried them all and absolutely love my 75...

There is an interview with the First Texas engineering team that was posted on the Fisher website a few months ago and they asked Dave Johnson this question:

DS: What new, top-secret detectors are you currently working on? (HA! Just kiddin

Well..........if Dave J is dropping a hint.......these are Greek letters...so perhaps new models in the Teknetics 'greek series' lineup.

This is your ETA-Kappa. It makes sense that it is an engineer fraternity.

I am saying, I spoke with the man and he said nothing major was coming out soon. I LOVE new machines as much as the next guy so we will just have to see.

First Texas has some dang good machines out now. Beating and equaling the big boys. New machines and technology is a good thing. It makes everyone push to become better and not just sit back for the ride. The F-75 LTD and T2 SE has REALLY impressed me with the Boost mode. Being able to hunt in tall grass or trash several inches above the ground and still hit targets 7-10" in the ground is simply AMAZING!!! No other machine out can do that. It runs smoother than the old one and is easier to set up! EMI problems is not near like it was.

Like I said... new machines push the others to compete and or catch up. That benefits us all!!

I think all he is saying is that there wont be anything anytime real soon. That doesnt mean they arent developing and working on new things. I think delving into new technology and trying new things in the interest of pushing the envelope is pretty much standard operating procedure at FT. it doesnt always happen overnight though.

Still think there is a new unit coming out this year. May not beat the F75 but the so called F80 would be very interesting since it is Fisher's 80th birthday...

hope you are right!..

I wish/hope they redo the CZ line. A modern tech CZ would be amazing. I would lay down my ML.

Yeah, Make It WATERPROOF; Capable of SWINGIN IT UNDERWATER, like an EXCAL, and with a REMOVABLE CONTROL
BOX for HIP or CHESTMOUNTING for you GUYS that like that Option!! HH, Les Robinson

Bart, even though you aren't exactly an unbiased source:laugh:, I sure agree with you about the boost mode. It's worth mentioning this time of year that it works great in the snow too, as long as the ground isn't too frozen and you use an environmental cover.

As a dealer I know you have way more knowledge of things First Texas than me...

But remember that "the man" has a vested financial interest in not letting information get leaked out about new detectors until the time comes for dealers to pre-order.

BTW, I know you're fairly new as a dealer/sponsor, so let me say welcome. It's great to have you here, and thank you for supporting the forum!

Well one thing I hope that they don't come out with another F75, you never know what you are getting. The standard and the Ltd/SE in my opinion are not the same machine and shouldn't carry the same base model number. We should all ready be looking at a F76, stickers can't cost that much. In my opinion a Std, SE or Ltd would be the same base with something extra like camo or black paint job with padded arm rest or something that looks like WOW when you pull it out of the box.

This is copied and pasted out of one of Dave's essays posted on the Fisher site....

"In the future we plan to introduce new processes which, although they may

Partial quote.. from Bart.. Beating and equaling the big boys

LOL..... I thought the F75 LTD and F75 SE units were the "BIG" Boys... First Texas isn't exactly a small company..

Fishers, Teknetics, Bounty Hunter, .are some of the best selling detectors in the USA and abroad.. Just look at the Technology First Texas has come out with, and look at what the other companies are now making .... AT pro being one of them.. ?????????????????????????

Who is the big Boys ????

FT Line
Fisher F75
Fisher Cameo F75 LTD
Fisher F75 SE
F70
F5
F4
F2
Tek T2
Tek T2 SE

Omega Line
Gamma Line
G2 Gold Machine

Delta Line too

If your digging in the snow your a way tougher guy than me!!! Ha ha you can have all of that business you want. I am out on all that. Thanks again for the welcome!!!
HH!! :beers:

I am biased! I think First Texas is kicking tail! No one has produced as many good machines as they have in the last few years. They are pushing the other companies to get off their rears and invent! That just makes it better for all of us!! I LOVE to use a new better machine!!!

I didn't say FT wasn't a big boy did I?? Ha ha I should have said they equal or beat the OTHER big boys!!! Lol
You happy now?? Ha ha have a good one Elton!! You made me crack up on that one!!! Your alright!!!! :beers:

i'll be in that crowd!..
